Another successful year at A Level for our pupils!

There was a great deal of pride as well as a few tears of joy at the College this morning as our pupils celebrated another fine set of A Level results. Whilst results can now be accessed online and pupils are able to confirm their university placement from early morning, it was fantastic to see so many come into school to celebrate with friends, family and teachers alike.

Overall, 2026 marks another year of outstanding achievement for our leavers. Yet again, our pupils achieved a 100% pass rate with 81% of pupils achieving three A Levels at the top grades, A*-C. Over 91% of all grades were awarded at A*-C, with an impressive 32% of all grades within the A*-A range - a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire school community.

With regards to individual pupil achievement an incredible 27 pupils achieved 2 or more A*/A grades. Worthy of special mention is Andrew Kinnen (Donacloney PS) who achieved an amazing 4 straight A* grades whilst Igor Juszczak (St Francis PS) achieved 4A*/A grades:

Lilien Schumann (King’s Park PS) achieved a wonderful 3 straight A* grades whilst nine further pupils, Grace Cochrane, Lewis Crooks, Alfie Speer, Aimee Wilson (all King’s Park PS), Isla Logan, Michaela Poots (both Rowandale Integrated PS), Ciara Gault (Maghaberry PS), Oliwia Gromala (Carrick PS) and Jessica Thompson (Largymore PS) all achieved 3A*/A grades.

A further 17 students achieved at least 2A*/A grades:

Dale Allen, Sophie Baxter, Daniel Emerson (all Waringstown PS), Dylan Crooks, Oliwier Garbacki, Chloe Gordon, Leah Heasley, Kody Watson (all King’s Park PS), Andrew Bird, Lena Kluk (Carrick PS), Ivan Cherpanyak, Dawson Hatch (Dickson PS), Grace Maguire (Maralin PS), James Strange (Donacloney PS) and Victoria White (Seagoe PS).

Mr Kyle McCallan MBE, Headmaster, said, "I am immensely proud to extend my warmest congratulations to our Year 14 pupils on securing such a brilliant set of A Level results today. Seeing their determination, perseverance, and passion rewarded in this way is deeply gratifying.

Whilst the results themselves are very pleasing, what's most important to me are the individuals behind each grade - our pupils and their families, each with their own unique story. This is a day for celebrating, and it is wonderful to see the vast majority of our leavers seamlessly moving on to their chosen destinations - whether that be university courses, higher-level apprenticeships, or exciting steps into the professional world. I have every confidence that they possess the skills, character, and drive to excel in whatever path they choose next.

Sustained excellence like this does not happen by accident; it is the culmination of the collective efforts of our entire school community. I want to express my sincere thanks to our dedicated teaching and support staff, who consistently go above and beyond to foster an environment where every pupil is supported, challenged and encouraged to fulfil their potential. I am equally grateful to our parents, whose steadfast support and partnership are indispensable to the achievements we celebrate today.

It is also vitally important to acknowledge the vital contribution of our local primary schools and Lurgan Junior High School in particular. The strong educational foundations laid in those early years play an undeniable role in making today’s success possible – today is indeed a celebration of the Dickson Plan and the key partners who work together in providing the best educational pathways for our young people.

AS LEVEL EXAMINATION RESULTS 2026

The College's Year 13 pupils also delivered a highly encouraging performance in their AS Level examinations, establishing a strong foundation for their final year of study. With a pass rate of 97.2% and 60% of the 357 entries achieving grades A-B, this has been yet another very successful year for our pupils.

An impressive 13 pupils achieved 3 A grades at AS Level this year. They were:

Chloe Freeburn, Nathaniel King, Alexander McMeekin, Ben Serplus (all Waringstown PS), Charlie Gault, Darcey Given, Matthew Lamont, Freddy McTernaghan (all King’s Park PS), Abi McAvoy (Dickson PS), Rys Mulholland, Naomi Wilson (both Moira PS), Amber Purdy (Clare PS) and Anna Wilson (Meadowbridge PS).

A further 15 pupils achieved at least 2 A grades:

Charlie Boyce, Evie Gough, Katie Lyness, Toby Moore, Anna Wylie (all Waringstown PS), Lauren Crawford, Micah Irwin, Caitlyn McCarter, Grace McNeill, Megan Stewart (all King’s Park PS), Harry Stevenson (Donacloney PS), Sarah-Jayne Newport (Richmount PS), Megan McCullough (Dickson PS), Calvin Gracey (Bocombra PS) and Hannah Buduan (Primary School Outside UK).
