Reporting an Absence

Each pupil at Lurgan College must attend school punctually and regularly.

When a pupil is registered as absent, the school will send an Absence Alert Text from 07908669256 via the Absence Call System and it is a parent’s responsibility to inform the school of the reason for, and if applicable, the expected duration of the pupil’s absence via text reply on the first day of absence.

Any pupil who arrives late to school must report to the Office and sign the late register stating time of arrival and reason for lateness.

If a pupil is late for school or requesting permission to leave school for special circumstances (such as medical appointment), parents should text the ‘absence call’ number – 07908669256 in advance to notify the school.

The pupil will then be granted permission to leave at the time stated on the text message and must sign out on the register provided at the Office.
