On Thursday past, a packed Lurgan College Assembly Hall, transformed for the night by Alfred Briggs’ Red Kitchens, was treated to a cookery masterclass by Northern Ireland’s very own celebrity chef, Jenny Bristow. And that wasn’t all. For as the tantalising aromas created by Jenny wafted around the school’s corridors during the interval, guests were able to sample an eclectic array of exhibitions, ranging from jewellery making by Eilia Beads to floral displays by Wilderness, and from kitchenware by Alana Interiors to Fascinators by Dainty Designs. After the break, former College pupil and the Ulster Tatler’s Designer of the Year, Kris Turnbull, treated an enthralled audience to a glimpse of the glamorous world of international interiors. The special evening, a fund raiser for the College, was heralded as a resounding success by everyone, with College Principal, Mr Trevor Robinson, commenting, ‘This has been another wonderful night for the College. It was great to see so many people having an enjoyable night out. Clearly, all the hard work by College staff and a wide range of local businesses has paid off. The big challenge now is how we’re going to follow this next year!’ The College would like to thank all those who helped or were involved in the evening in any way, and in particular of course all those people who came along to support us on the night. Please come again! |
